Rrrrrebooting ... sort of

So I asked Vulgarweed and the old mods whether the planned reboot was still happening and it’s off. With their permission, though, I’ve set up my own attempt at a reboot at

lt_safe_house for anyone still interested in starting over with a similar game.

There’s an OOC community at

mad_prophecies, if you want to join, have questions, or just want to stop by for old times’ sake. It’s open for everybody and even if you’re not joining the new game, I’d be happy to see you there.

Those of you not interested in playing again, please tell me so I’ll know your characters are available for new players. (If you don’t, I’ll try to track you down before giving away your character, but after a computer crash a while ago I no longer have all of your e-mail addresses and I’m not sure how up to date the contact info I have is anyway.)

I’ll be in the old neutral omens chatroom whenever I’m online this weekend, if anybody feels like dropping by.

Feling Nostalgic And New Address

So after GJ died a few days ago I decided to get a new backup journal and on a whim made one for Loki, too. Of course the whole backup's pretty useless without the old friends, but ... *sighs*

Why am I even posting this here? Well, since I already had Loki's profile open I looked through all his friends' journals and remembered all the stories, characters and crack chats. Yes, I should probably just join Loki up to a new RPG, but it's this one and you guys that I miss.

Somehow I don't think we're going to finish any open threads anymore.

Fate of Neutral Omens...

All right, guys. Well, it hasn't been a week yet, but only four people voted in the poll - all on the first day - and the vote is unanimously to, "Try to find new mods and give it three months to see if it improves." Apparently no one else gives a damn. But those who do, want the game to continue.

However, there was one write-in suggestion from Gabs that your mods thought held some promise. We've been discussing it amongst ourselves and are now turning to the players for a final decision. The idea was basically to reset the game. Start over, if you will. Players would be given one last thread to wrap up anything they wanted to wrap up and at the end, Adam does his thing. Then the game goes on hiatus for a month or so while everyone submits formal applications for their characters and we try to recruit new players. After that, we'd start the game again (though the stuff we liked from NO can be copy/pasted into the new game - with mod permission - so we don't have to replay what already worked) and see if we can't move faster and feel enthusiastic again in getting to play without having to slog through all the back story that was established before characters disappeared.

Wouldn't it be cool?! Imagine it being fun to play again...

Oh, and our Brian/Azi-mun has volunteered to be the mod for the new game, with John and I sticking around as advisors, so the game really would be starting anew with fresh ideas and ways of doing things.

I, for one, am pretty excited by the prospect, but we'd like to hear from you. Thoughts? Questions? Concerns?

All right, guys, here's the deal. Our game is failing. I'm sure you've noticed. There have been only two posts in the last week, and only four the week prior. If we actually kept to the 30 day rule, we'd lose half the cast. The last thread was started almost a month ago and the other party has never replied.

John and I don't feel able to keep it afloat by ourselves anymore. We've come to the end of our bag of tricks with limited success. However, we are, for the good of the game, willing to hand it over to someone who feels up to the task. If this is you, please let us know.

So, this is it. Now we decide what happens. You've got one week to get your vote in. One per player (not per character) but please use a character journal because I'm not sure what all your personal journal names are. On January 14th, the majority wins. Okay? Simple? Here are the options:

Heads up for Loki

Hi - AIM is sulking again, as you may have guessed, so I'm back to contacting people here.

Loki, I was wondering - how much do you want War to load on Loki right away? And depending on the answer, can you give me a quick refresher run down on the family history as you're playing it? Because I really can't remember it all, and I don't want to get it wrong when it's my fault and not War!

I'm going to have to take a little break for a few weeks. It's senior year, and I'm in the buried in piles of college applications and scholarship forms. I think I can be back by around the seventeenth of November, but until then I should probably lay off the recreational computer time. :/

Brian-mun, I'm sorry I never contacted you, but the reasons stated above cover why. Will we be able to get some closure in when I get back?
