I would like to have a chat sometime in the near future about things like the other pantheons. There's been a lot of talk about JCM pantheon stuff, but if the other gods exist then wouldn't their places exist too? Do their creatures exist as well? Why or why not? How DOES divine power work, in the game? Right now I'm just using my personal theory, but the other pagan gods aren't as weak as Hermes is, so I would like to clear the mechanics up on that.

Is this cool with everyone?

If such a thing can be arranged, I'd love that.

...It may seem at first that this hardly has anything to do with either of my characters (except indirectly). However, I might remind that not only Uriel's kid, but also Uriel herself could very well become a part of the Asgardian pantheon. If Pestilence, the baby, and her brother(s!) are on the neutral zone, Uriel will not choose Heaven. (And Loki wasn't originally a god either...)

Hi, Hermes! ^_^

What I've been going with, especially since I play the American Gods version of Horus, is that the gods are sort of anthropomorphic personifications not unlike the Horsepeople, created by the collective conciousness of their worshipers. It's fairly in keeping with the canonical weakening of the old gods from that book, and doesn't conflict with the Judeo-Christian backdrop of the RP. Don't know where you're coming from with Hermes, just putting that out there.

I think a chat would be a good idea though. The trick is finding a time when we're all on!

Also, I think it would be fun to have Hermes and Horus meet sometime...we could has that out here if you like or my AIM is HawkHorus, I'm usually always on.

I love Hermes by the way. He's adorable and makes me wish I could pick up a Greek so he'd have a friend around.

Well I've left all the others open because I'm hoping someone will pick up Hermes' brother Apollo or Eros or someone! ^_^ So feel free. I guess since I'm the first Greek I'm sorta making up some of the basic history of Olympus as I go. I've been hoping that my twists on it are okay with everyone!! ^_^;;;

I wooould but I already have two characters and I'm reasonably certain that there's something somewhere about only having two characters. Wish I could though, since I already have a working knowledge of the mythology and it's about ten million times simpler than Egyptian.

Then again, the Gordian Knot is easier to sort out than Egyptian mythology. @_@

Famine, Horseman of the Apocalypse. He...hasn't been doing all that much lately, his only active thread got pushed off the front page of the comm a while ago. I've been meaning to make some kind of open post for him actually, and haven't gotten around to it yet. Finals kind of killed my activeness, but they're over now, so I can actually do things again.

Well not as an alter ego or soemthing, no way!! Eros is still a Greek god with all the blond, blue-eyedness! XD But the whole glam-rock thing would totally appeal to him. And the girls and boys squeeing.

Yeah, I figured, but Gackt is the first thing to come to mind when I hear Jrock. He does have blond hair a lot though. And what a way to get worshiped again.

Why is blond hair and blue eyes such a big thing with the Greek gods? I've never met a full blooded Greek who who was blond in my life.

Ah no, but the GODS had blond hair, because it was gold, like the sun. And blue eyes for the sky. Blond hair and blue eyes were exotic, but known in the world of the Ancient Greeks. I read somewhere that all the gods had blond hair--it didn't say anything about eye colour, which is why I give Eros red eyes (red for lust and passion and love) and Dionysus has wine-purple eyes--at least, in my head. Hades is the only one where I cannot see him without black hair and black eyes and light grey-blue skin--as though he's been drinking silver nitrate all his life and has argyros (sp?). Hades might also have glittering, gem-like eyes because he rules over them. Demeter would have green eyes, I wager, and Hestia brown ones. This is just my speculation on the matter of eye colour.

Ah, yes, point I suppose. I like your ideas about eye color, but red eyes to me just seems to be more connected to anger and violence. War has red eyes. I don't know what color to say instead, but red just seems too angry to me.

I know, it does. I always held with the idea that Eros was the bastard son of Ares, and has Ares' eyes. Think of it as rose red, not blood red? Blood is candy-apple red, whereas roses are darker.

Yeah, I suppose. That could be kinda pretty, actually... I like the older myth of Eros better, though. The one where Eros appeared out of Chaos and so on.
